Election '08: The Palin Choice
John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin works on so many levels:
-- Palin is a pro-life person of faith, energizing evangelicals about the ticket in a way McCain hasn't;
-- She is (obviously) a woman, thereby stealing a lot of the Obama thunder as the first African-American nominee and probably attracting the votes of many women;
-- Palin has first-hand knowledge of the energy industry, no small thing in the current political climate of $4 a gallon gas and the growing national desire to start drilling;
-- She fits McCain's reform image and is the antithesis to Joe Biden;
-- Palin has a compelling personal story.
-- She has more executive experience than Obama.
Assuming she has been properly vetted, this is a great choice for Republicans--and for the country.
