Keep on digging, Stan. These petty attacks are going nowhere fast.
They're petty and going nowhere, Steve, only if words are mere "rhetorical flourishes." But if words actually mean something, and I believe they do, then I'm going to keep sharing them with readers who care to look past the media hype and see what Sen. Obama really believes and stands for.
Most of these "petty attacks" are simply replaying what Obama has already said. If you don't like them, your argument is with him, not with me.
"what Sen. Obama really believes and stands for" ... based on out-of-context statements made in interviews he gave years ago? That's pretty weak, IMO.
I have my arguments with Obama, but this is my argument for you: Why spread fear? Why focus on the negative? How is that helpful?
Words do mean something, Stan, and you're sure good at twisting them around, I'll give you that ;-)
Sure, anytime someone you support says something uncomfortable or dissonent with your narrative, attack the messenger or say that the words are taken out of context or were said a long time ago.
Steve, I'm not making this stuff up, and I'm not spreading fear. Perhaps I am focusing on the negative a bit. As long as it's true, I don't have a problem with that. Someone has to do it. Sorry you'd rather impugn me than deal with Obama's words and positions, which are a matter of public record.
Stan
